Washington: Rep. Richard M. Nixon (R-Calif.) said he will ask the House Un-American Activities Committee to reopen its investigation of the Alger Hiss-Whittaker Chambers spy case. Nixon, the ranking GOP committeeman who played a leading role in gathering evidence in the case, said he felt the committee should pick up where it left off when Hiss was indicted more than a year ago.
