Description
Pictured along the West Sacramento side of the Sacramento River is the ziggurat, once occupied by the Money Store, a nationwide moneylender. Constructed in 1997/98 out of sandstone, the 60 million dollar, 11-story office tower was made to look like a Mayan temple. Viewed by many an architectural eyesore, the building was abandoned by the Money Store in 2000.
