Description
Julia O' Faolain discusses her book, “No Country for Young Men.” She begins by explaining that the theme of the novel is, “the dead hand of the past, which in Ireland never lets you go.” The book follows the story of an old nun who is forced to leave her nunnery, and holds a secret that is not revealed until the final pages of the novel. O' Faolain discusses the strength of her female characters in this novel and the nature of Irish women in history and today. She goes on to share her writing process, how she became a writer, and how her father and his work influenced her.
