Description
Republican mural, Clowney Street, Beechmount, West Belfast, 1989. One of the oldest murals, represents republican Phoenix; emblems of four ancient provinces of Ireland, Ulster, Connacht, Munster and leinster, with slogans 'the people arose is 69 they will do it again at any time', 'Maggie Thatcher think again, don't lt our brave men die in vain' - reference to hunger Strikes 1981.'No Ball Playing'. Mural paintbombed, local graffiti.
