Description
Photograph of a crowded business street in St. Helena, ca.1907. The wide dirt street is at center and heads away from the viewer. It is lined on both sides by two-story brick buildings and sidewalks covered by awnings. There are many horse-drawn vehicles parked along the sides of the road. Several pedestrians can be seen walking along the sidewalks on both sides of the street. Two lines of utility poles run parallel to the road, one on each side. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Ellwood Fences", "Hancock Disc Plows", "Drugs", and "Ice cream soda".
