Photograph caption dated December 16, 1959 reads, "General's Photo to Grant High -- Bob Martsch, standing, left, presents 40x60 print of Old Mathew Brady photo of General Ulysses S. Grant, taken in 1865, to Valley's new U.S. Grant High School, opened last September. Receiving photo for high school is Henry Dyck, principal, standing at right. With them are, seated, from left, Barton Wigge, teacher at school, and Harry Berkowitz, school's head counselor. Martsch, president of Photomammoth Murals, represents Valley Plaza Kiwanis Club, donors of mural to school."
