Description
Deputy Sheriff Contreras is shown above at right, with Deputy Sheriff Walter Hunter, looking over some of the gambling equipment seized in the raids. The Old Colony Club, the Clover Club and the Club La Boheme were raided by the formally attired officers. Many motion picture celebrities fled from the fashionable resorts when the officers started to dismantle roulette and card tables. Seven men from the Old Colony Club pleaded guilty to conducting gambling and were fined $100 each. Photo dated: January 28, 1934.
