Description
Photograph of Antonio Araujo and his daughter Sally with a horse and an antelope in front of their adobe house on La Liebre Ranch, 1903. Antonio is at center on a dark horse that is facing to the right. He is wearing the clothes of a gaucho, including chaps and a broad-brimmed hat. Sally is standing on the ground at right near a small antelope. She is wearing a dark dress and a light shirt. The adobe house behind them is light in color and has a covered porch. A single rectangular window is at center and is flanked by two doorways. A wooden chimney protrudes from the roof. The house was built by Beale in the 1850s on the west side of Antelope Valley and later stood on the side of Tejon Ranch.
