Description
Archibald O. Hoover sits in his City Hall office in this 1951 photograph. The Texas native served as Sacramento's Deputy City Controller between 1932 and 1934 and was the city's primary Controller from 1935 through 1960, retiring from public service in 1962. In total, Hoover amassed 48 of service as a Sacramento City employee. He died in Sacramento in 1981.
