Photograph of the cliffs, or "Pali," near Honolulu, Hawaii, [s.d.]. The long ridge of cliffs of the Nuuanu Pali sweeps majestically down to the windward coast of Oahu. In the spring of 1795, the army of Kamehameha the Great, battled the islands defenders and drove them off the pali to their deaths.
