Description
Photograph of a deserted street in Virginia City, Nevada, ca.1930. Stores and electrical poles line the street while several lines run from one side of the street to the other. The post office, which is the first building on the left, has a glass doorway that is surrounded by windows. The second story shades the sidewalk and is supported by thin poles extending down to the street. Several signs stand between the post office and the other buildings that extend into the distance. "Deserted street of a once great mining town. A fire destroyed two thousand of its three thousand buildings in 1875".
