Between 1954 and 1990, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leased several different grounds for its boys summer camp program. St. Vincent de Paul Ranch Camp was located in the Santa Susana Mountains in Granada Hills until it was destroyed by fire. In 1990, the Society purchased Circle V Camp near Santa Barbara for co-ed summer camps. Photograph caption dated July 19, 1958 reads, "Youngsters do own housework at morning clean-up at St. Vincent de Paul Ranch Camp at Valley's edge. Cleanest tent receives day's honor. About 80 boys attend one-week camp sessions during season at cost of $18 a week. Camperships are also available. Donations help maintain camp which takes $25,000 to operate in summer."
