Legible signs include: "901, Used cars", ..."Steven's Nikabob cafe", "Free parking in rear", "Chicken dinner [...], luncheon 50¢, dinner 85¢", ..."urtz [...] motor co[...] Oldsmobile [...]car dept.", ..."associated"..., "Garage", ..."tow service", "Expert [...] delivery service", "Pellissier Square 24 hour service garage", ..."brake"..., "Econom"..., "Chevrolet", "Everything for your automobile", "J.L. Schlosser auto[...] Chevrolet dealer, new and used cars", address? "676". "J. L. Schlosser Chevrolet was located at 866 So. Western Ave, on the NE corner of 9th and Western, in Los Angeles, California. He bought the dealership from Spencer Kennelly during the first week of November in 1929. When "the Crash" hit at the end of the month, he promised his employees that they would "all eat and make it through the Depression if they stayed with him." They did, and he kept his promise" -- from Patricia Schlosser Schell.
