Photograph article dated August 24, 1964 partially reads, "When barber Bill Hertan came to North Hollywood in 1924, he settled in a quiet, peaceful community nestled in the largely agricultural San Fernando Valley. Today, looking back on a half century of barbering, Hertan gazes out the front window of his shop on a busy Lankershim Boulevard that is much changed from the first time he drove down it." Pictured are Bill Hertan, trimming the eyebrows of Chamber of Commerce manager, Barney Oldfield.
