2018-0776. Shows spectators on hillside; ships in Bay; mounted horsemen (soldiers?) in meadow; Alcatraz Island (?) in background. "View of the Bombardment, July 3, 1876" -- handwritten on verso. In July 1876, Celebration of the Centennial Fourth, a four-day festival included a military review and bombardment in vicinity of the Presidio and Lime Point. Bombardment included Major Hasbrouck, California Light Battery; includes the ships Comanche, Pensacola, Portsmouth, Jamestown, French frigate Gallisoniere, Saco.
