Description
Photograph shows what is probably Reverend Robert Copestake's installation at United Fellowship Metropolitan Community Church in 1981. Four pastors in albs are at or near a church railing. Reverend Robert Copestake is in a white alb with a cross on it and is standing on the right-hand side of the railing. He is holding a second pastor's hand. Two other pastors, one of which is a woman, are standing on the opposite side of the railing facing a microphone. They all appear to be praying.
Reverend Robert Copestake's MCC church installation was in 1981. He served there until the end of 1986. From Ted Sahl, "From closet to community: a quest for gay & lesbian liberation in San Jose & Santa Clara County," (2002), p.106-107.
