Description: Image of a full-length portrait of German actor Elizabeth Von Stamwitz (or Elisabeth Von Stamwitz) wearing the royal regalia of an empress with a dress decorated with stars, a fur cape, and jewelry, and standing near a throne-like chair.
Probable date based on general printer's history; Thomas operated from the 865 Broadway address from around 1878 until 1880. "H.A. Thomas"--text, artist's signature in stone, lower left. "H.A. Thomas Lithographic Studio. 865 Broadway, N.Y."--text, bottom center margin. "Mrs. Henry P. Salisbury"--text, handwritten in pencil, bottom right margin.
