Photograph of a Spanish lighthouse on Point Loma in San Diego, ca.1898. The adobe structure consists of an ordinary looking two-story building with a large lighthouse tower and two chimneys protruding from the peak of its roof. The cylindrical tower has a balcony around it and is topped by a spire. There are three people on the right side of the building near a doorway one is actually standing in the doorway. There is a wooden picket fence surrounding the building, and on the ground around it is scrub brush. The lighthouse has been restored as part of the Cabrillo National Monument.
