Description
This photo was taken on April 15, 1955, at the Rose Bowl Stadium, to publicize the Boy Scout Rose Bowl Circus, which was to take place on May 21. The boys in the photo are wearing medieval knight costumes on top of their Scout uniforms, and a cardboard model castle rests on the ground. The image was ordered by John Hoel, possibly of the John D. Hoel Advertising Agency in Monrovia. The Boy Scouts of America (San Gabriel Valley Council) was headquartered at 939 East Union Street.
