A second-day capacity crowd of 10,000 Angelenos stood in line for hours on February 24, 1948, to see the Freedom Train (arrow) at Exposition Park. Warnings were issued by officials that only those who were in line before 11 a.m. had a chance of getting aboard the train to see the documents on display.
