3 images. Old San Pedro church, 25 September 1956. St. Peter's First Episcopalian Church Workmen begin dismantling church Belfry and bell are swung from top of church Clyde Foot Clifford Edwards Inscription on bell. Supplementary material reads: "Gershon, City Desk, Old San Pedro Church. Old San Pedro landmark which will become shrine is the St. Peter's First Episcopalian Church which was also the first church built in San Pedro and dedicated in 1884 on Easter Morn. It will be moved to San Pedro Cemetery as a shrine and possibly for use as a wedding chapel. Workmen began dismantling and jacking up building for moving today. Nos. 1-2: Clyde "Lucky" Foot, who was a choir boy in the church in 1889, looks on as belfry and bell are raised. Nos 3-4: Belfry and bell are swung from top of Church. No. 5: Workers in belfry prepare slings for lowering steeple. Grover Best on outside reaches around for sling while Clifford Edwards is at work inside tower Clyde "Lucky" Foot looks on below. No. 6: Same as above with Clifford Edwards with hatchet raised preparing for sling bolts and Clyde "Lucky" Foot looking on. No. 7: Finger points to inscription on Bell: "Thanksgiving Offering from the City Front Mission SS. of San Francisco to St. Peter's Mission of San Pedro, California, Oct. 1884. No. 8: Same with Clyde "Lucky" Foot pointing to inscription above."
