Photograph article dated May 23, 1950 partially reads, "Here is a Valleyite who was saved $7000 by attending night school! She is Mrs. John Kuck, 39, of 13380 Beaver St., San Fernando, a woodshop student at San Fernando Evening High School. Three years ago she entered the class. Before that time she was a housewife, knowing nothing of carpentry. Since then she has built, almost entirely by herself, a luxurious five-room home at the above address. And she also has built more than $2000 worth of furniture to go into it. She figures her total savings through night school instruction is better than $7000." Photograph caption reads, "Built own home after attending woodshop - Mrs. John Kuck, of San Fernando, saved $7000 on building."; See images #00135760 through #00135762 for all photos in this series.
