Description
A group of men carry a coffin for a burial service at a cemetery in Patzún, Chimaltenango. Groups of Mayan women, men and children participate in the service. Five armed soldiers stand next to the burial plot and salute the deceased. They are holding IMI Galil rifles of Israeli origin. The funeral service was for a Mayan civilian who was allegedly killed by guerilleros. Un grupo de hombres lleva un ataúd hacia su sepulterio en un cementerio en Patzún, Chimaltenango. Grupos de mujeres, hombres y niños mayas participan en el servicio. Cinco soldados armados yacen parados al costado del sepulterio y hacen un saludo al difunto. Ellos sostienen fusiles IMI Galil de origen israelí. El servicio funerario fue para un civil maya que presuntamente fue asesinado por guerrilleros.
