Photograph caption dated August 7, 1958 reads "Vito Galasso Jr., 14, shown with his parents, today won $105,000 settlement for injuries suffered in Jan. 31, 1957, plane crash in Pacoima." The boy was burned when a Douglas DC7B transport crashed into the Pacoima Junior High School yard after colliding with a Northrop jet trainer plane. Douglas Aircraft and Northrop Aircraft Corporation were sued by the boy and his parents. Pictured with them is an unidentified man, probably their attorney, Mark Niesen.
