Photograph of Maryknoll Normal College "sitting-room or sala. This is the upstairs hall just inside the porch. We have converted it into a sala. Sr. Siena is sitting on the porch and Sister Caritas in the room. The furnishing (heavy rattan) is the gift of friends of our Sisters at Sr. Paul's. It was slightly used so it was re-finished in Arcadian green with ivory trimmings. There are 7 pieces to the set. The lamp is an old one from St. Mary's storeroom, painted to match the furniture. In the far corners of porch we have two long chairs of rattan - painted to match the set. There are also low boxes of ferns on either side of the center. The railing is the top of the staircase. This picture was taken from the extreme right corner, from the entrance to the upstairs lavatory. We use this room to entertain, also for recreation in evening. With attractive shades for the lights it will make a very pleasing room. These we will get when "our ship comes in."
