Photograph caption date stamped September 11, 1956 reads, "Right halfback Bill Wendorf, on the left, and right tackle Duane Halpape are two of the returning lettermen expected to spark the 1956 Burbank High School Bulldogs in their bid for Foothill League honors in football. The Bulldogs are hard at work under Coach Ham Lloyd who must have them ready for their first game at Beverly Hills High on Sept. 21. The Bulldogs already have been sent through their first scrimmage of the season." Pictured is Duane Halpape. See image 00162623 for additional photo in this series.
