“The Inscription rock. The inscription is from the time of Asoka 3rd Century B.C. about 260 B.C. Traces of Buddhist residences are found here and at Nagar in the south of Jaipur State. [pointing to small letters on bottom left of stone] Some of the old letters still seen on the rock.” View of large stone with man standing in front. A small amount of writing is visible on the stone. Asoka [Ashoka] was an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled most of the Indian subcontinent. He famously converted to Buddhism.
