Description
Photograph caption dated June 27, 1949 reads, "Looking very dignified in his 'full dress uniform' sporting the four stars of a full admiral, Ace Admiral has every reason to feel important - he was rated the probable favorite and he proved the winner of the Hollywood Park-at-Santa Anita $25,000 Inglewood Handicap Saturday. Ace Admiral won the Argonaut Handicap on Memorial Day from a fast field and many fans rightly figured the flyer with the nautical name could repeat in the Inglewood. He did."
