This is a photograph of three Maryknoll priests traveling on horse back through Hong Kong. Right to left, Fr. Feeney, Fr. John McGinn and Fr. James McCormick. They all wear white shirts and either carry or wear light colored fedoras. Rev. McCormick was born in Scranton, PA. He entered The Venard, Maryknoll's Apostolic College, in 1921, and was ordained in 1931. He was assigned to Kaying that year and returned to the U.S. in 1940. Returning to Kaying in 1945, he was expelled from China in 1951. He spend the rest of his mission career in Taiwan. -- Rev. McGinn was born in Providence, RI. He joined Maryknoll in 1925 and was ordained in 1931. He was assigned to Kongmoon, South China that year, returning to the U.S. in 1941. In 1942 he was assigned to work with the Chinese community in Lima, Peru. In 1945 he was reassigned to China, and was expelled in 1952. -- Rev. Feeney was born in Albany, NY. He studied for the priesthood in the Albany Diocese, joining Maryknoll in February of 1930, where he was ordained in June of that year. He was assigned to Kongmoon, China in 1931, returning to the U.S. 1945-46, returning to Kongmoon in 1946. Placed under house arrest in 1950, he was deported to Hong Kong in 1952. In 1953 he was assigned to Taichung, Taiwan. He returned to the U.S. in 1973.
