Image reproduced for an article dated: July 9, 1960. Here's how Anaheim looked in 1887. The city was small and so was its business area. The main thoroughfare was unpaved. The city was founded by a group of 50 German adventurers who had tired of the San Francisco gold rush atmosphere and moved south to grow grapes. They settled Anaheim in 1857.
