This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Van Ness Theatre Fulton & Van Ness SW corner 1907." Photo shows the Van Ness Theatre on a rainy day. The building is surrounded by scaffolding, suggesting that it was still under construction even though posters and a marquee advertising "Madam Butterfly" are in evidence. This building was on the site of the current Opera House.
