Photograph article dated March 5, 1951 partially reads, "If parks and public recreation areas that dot the vast Valley floor are a criterion, San Fernando Valley could very well be called the playground of the Southland. The public recreation areas are needed in a climate that invites sunny, outdoor living most of the year-round. And it has them. The Valley has perhaps as great a number of parks and playgrounds as any other area its size in the United States." Photograph caption reads, "Typical Valley park football scene enacted by youngsters - Adult playground leaders watch that pig-skin game isn't too rough."; See image #00137534 for additional photo in this series.
