"The Wonder World of Chemistry" erected at the New York World's Fair 1939 by E.I. du Pont deNemours & company houses a series of dramatizations of the contributions of chemistry to every phase of social and industrial life. The exhibit was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague; architectural plans drawn by A.M. Erickson. Among the displays is a glorified laboratory demonstrating the transformation of commonplace substances into luxuries. Colorful liquids circulate constantly in the illuminated column in the court to represent a modern chemical appliance.
