Description
Men and women gathered at the corner of First Street and Santa Clara Streets, San Jose, California, in front of a bank with "Safe Deposit Bank" embossed on its doorway (the Safe Deposit Bank of Savings, later the Bank of Italy). On reverse is written: "Crowd at the corner of First and Santa Clara Streets" and "1914." The women are smiling, wearing long coats and suits with long skirts. Some of the women are holding banners that say "$100,000." Enlargement by Roberts & Horwarth.
