Photograph caption dated October 21, 1955 reads, "Acting as chairman and committee for wives of striking gravel firm workers who met last night at Azusa Municipal Auditorium are, left to right, Mrs. Jack Holmes, Mrs. Guy Manning, Mrs. Lawrence Werham, Mrs. L.T. Maxwell and Mrs. Lloyd Bell. All wives of idled workers, the women are seeking the right to secret balloting for union members."
