Description
Image of a speaker addressing a crowd during the dedication of Beverly Boulevard (now Sunset Boulevard) in Pacific Palisades, California, with automobiles parked along the street at the construction site.
This is a copy negative (a photograph of another photograph). Title and date devised by cataloger based on the history of the event (see "Opening of Boulevard Celebrated," Los Angeles Times, August 19, 1925, page A3: "The opening of Beverly Boulevard ... was celebrated yesterday at the Pacific Palisades under the auspices of the Pacific Palisades Association ... The celebration was featured by the last shovelful of earth being removed by a mogul engine at Chautauqua and Beverly Boulevards").
