Photograph of men standing on grid layout of a factory, ca.1940. At center, a group of seven men can be seen standing on small rectangular, wooden platforms in a grid layout. Next to each platform, a series of concrete blocks and steel rods are visible. Small ladder handles are also seen at the edge of each platform. At center, one of the men, reaches down towards the concrete blocks. A small pile of bricks sits on the platform next to him. In the background, two of the men are seen sitting on separate platforms. Behind the men, a series of metal beams and containers can be seen. To the right, the steel tracks leading to a small rail yard can be seen. In the extreme background, a lines of utility poles are visible near tall buildings. To the far right in the background, the exterior of a large factory is visible. Four smokestacks line the side of the factory along with several large windows. In the extreme foreground, a small rectangular box sits on the platform on the far left.
