Description
"Every morning before any treatment is givn [sic], a service is held in the Verandah of the Hospital, where both out and in patients assemble, and hear of a gospel of love. Many of them come for weeks at a time to the out-dispensary, while the average period for in-patients is about 3 weeks, thus giving them the opportunity of hearing well our story, and realising the love that is so markedly manifested in a work such as ours. Our seed is bread cast upon the waters and after many days we shall see of the fruit of our labours." Exterior view of patients listening to religious service. ❧ "This Lecture was prepared by Dr J.W. Arthur in October 1911 on his voyage to Mombasa. The set of slides is the gift to the Kikuyu Mission of the Young Peoples Meeting at the Burgh Hall, Hillhead, of which he was for many years a member." A green folder marked 'Kikuyu' and containing lecture notes and relevant photographs to accompany lantern slides.
