Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the May Company department store in Los Angeles, 1920-1929. The five-story building is on a street corner at center and looms over the intersection below. A large arch-shaped entryway can be seen at left, flanked by tall columns. The windows on the first floor are covered by neat cloth awnings. The walls of the buildings are decorated with simple carvings and molding. Several early automobiles are parked on the curb in front of the store. Another large building can be seen in the background at left. The May Company building was constructed in 1908.
