Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Title supplied by cataloger.; Image is a reproduction. Margaret Rose Dadourian’s family was originally from Giumri, Armenia and relocated to the Boyle Heights neighborhood in 1913. Margaret was born in Los Angeles 1925. She married and had four children. She belonged to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in Pasadena, CA. Margaret died in Arcadia, CA, in 2015 at the age of 90. A young woman pins a corsage on the dress of Virginie Mamoulian, the mother of film producer Rouben Mamoulian, in a restaurant as another unidentified man sits nearby at their table.
