Photograph caption dated August 31, 1963 reads "Youths learn charity early - Van Nuys youngsters staged their own carnival this week to raise funds for the Childrens Hospital. Rhoda Horwitz, youngest member of the troupe, conceived the idea and received assistance from her sister and neighborhood girl friends.
