Description
Photograph of a church and cemetery in Springfield near Columbia, CA, ca.1930. The lightly-colored, abandoned church sits slightly to the right with wood-paneled walls. No door occupies the doorway and the three openings that were once windows overlook the cemetery in the foreground. The lightly-colored grave markers, which are shaped like arches, are surrounded by thick, tall weeds in plots contained by chain fences and pointed metal posts. The backdrop is a faint hillside that are decorated by trees on the right, but contain a smooth clearing on the left.
