The community's original 1887 wooden school house was located on Foothill and Dyer, but three years later a new school site was secured and another wooden schoolhouse was built on the corner of La Crescenta and Prospect, the site shown here. This school building, built in 1914 lasted until 1948, when it was replaced. As of 2008, the late-40s building continues to serve La Crescenta Elementary School.
