Description
Doll wears the clothing styles of Green HMong women from Sayaboury, Laos. This style is defined by the plaid headdress and colorful skirts. The doll wears a black and white plaid turban, silver necklaces decorated with three silver shells, a black skirt with multi-colored embroidery and appliqué, tied with a green and pink waist sash. The doll carries a baby (wearing an embroidered hat with a red pompom on top) on her back in an embroidered baby carrier. She holds a qeej reed wind instrument, and a woven basket full of fruit hangs from her right arm. The back of the doll displays the embroidery on the long tail of her waist sash, called tw siv.
