In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
An employee can be seen wiring the top panel of an R44 helicopter Raven II engine at the Robinson Helicopter Company plant, located at the Torrance Airport.
