Description
Engraved map, 60 x 46, issued by Covens and Mortier. Amsterdam, 1757. A Delisle type No. 2. A peculiarity is that the R. du Carmel is just north of a P. Ste Lucie which is in about the location where Pt. Conception should be. Includes an inset of the Arctic region; the cartouche also depicts native flora of North America. There is thorough notation of Native American tribes and French forts as well as the routes of various explorers.
