Description
Photograph of a view of Marysville cemetery, Yuba County, ca.1930. One of two visible grave markers stands center and appears to be made of stone. The second marker is a wooden cross that stands to the left of the first marker. The cross leans against one of the many trees that almost completely shade the ground of overgrown weeds and grass that surrounds the graves. Picture file card reads "This old abandoned graveyard of the pioneers of Yuba County. Walking through the weeds one passes over many mounds -- only four are marked. The first burial to take place here is said to have been in 1857 -- that of Father Florian, a Franciscan padre".
