A historical reenactment of the first raising of the American flag in Los Angeles during a centennial celebration of the event held on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall. Behind the presenters is a replica of the flat-roofed, one story adobe which had served as the Mexican Government house of Upper California and later the military headquarters for invading Americans. Photograph dated August 13, 1946.
