Description
Photograph of close-up view of a woman holding a beaker and test tube, with chemical apparatuses in background, ca.1950. At center, a single woman is seen holding a wide beaker in her right hand and a long test tube in her left hand. The woman is wearing a striped shirt with a small bow tied in the front near the collar. Additionally, she wears a vest over her blouse, and a small apron can be seen around her chest. The woman's eyes are fixed attentively on the contents of the beaker. The beaker is tilted slightly so that the curved end extends into the opening of the test tube. Both the beaker and test tube are filled with a thick, lightly-colored substance. Behind the woman, several large apparatuses can be seen holding a few large test tubes. In the extreme background beyond the window, the structure of a building can be seen.
