"Parti af Tananarive, Ambatovinaky" ("Parts of Tananarive, Ambatovinaky"). From album entitled "Fra Madagaskar" page 1. The picture is taken from the Faravohitra hill overlooking some stonecutters in the foreground. Rice fields are seen in the Ambohijatovo valley. The memorial church of Ambatonakanga is seen to the right and the Lutheran church at Amabtovinaky in the middle. In the background is the hill Ambohijanahary. Thomas Joergensen (1874-1957) served as a printer for the Norwegian Missionary Society in Madagascar from 1897 to 1945 in the capital Tananarive (Antananarivo). He is the creator of this album. - - He started in a building at Ambohijanahary before switching over to the former Lutheran Hospital at Andohalo in 1904. He worked as a printer for 50 years, only interrupted by furloughs in Norway. This album contains the images NMS-032 to NMS-069.
